Last week Olivia came up with the idea all on her own to create a popsicle that included Chocolate, Strawberry, and Vanilla Ice Creams. On Saturday she began creating her popsicles.
Olivia's recipe for Chocolate Strawberry Vanilla Pops
Gather the following items:
9 oz paper cups
large popsicle sticks
chocolate ice cream
strawberry ice cream
vanilla ice cream
Allow strawberry ice cream to soften. (Olivia chose strawberry first because she wanted to see pink on the top. Pink is her favorite color, you know. J) Begin by filling cups 1/3 full with the strawberry ice cream and end by nicely leveling ice cream. Wipe inside of cups with a cloth. Place cups on a baking sheet and freeze for 1-2 hours. Take chocolate ice cream out of freezer about 5 minutes before getting cups out. Next take cups out of freezer and fill to 2/3 full with the chocolate ice cream and end by nicely leveling ice cream. Wipe inside of cups with a cloth. Place popsicle sticks in the center of the cups and place back in the freezer for 3-4 hours. Take vanilla ice cream out of freezer 5 minutes before getting cups out. Lastly, take cups out of freezer and fill to the top with vanilla ice cream and nicely level off before placing back in the freezer overnight.
When ready to eat, make a slit in the side of cup and peel paper away leaving a beautiful tri-color popsicle. Olivia recommends that you place them in a beautiful bowl and serve them immediately.
It's good when the cook likes her own recipe.
It even leaves a pretty bowl behind when it's all gone. J
