Today was the inauguration of the 44th president of our United States. We spent a good bit of time watching history take place right before our eyes. We watched all former living presidents enter the Capitol, Vice-President Joseph Biden take the oath of office, Barack Obama take the oath of office, and even part of the inauguration luncheon and parade.
For tea time, we began by praying for Barack Obama and his family. This is the Bible verse we focused on and lifted up for our new President.
"I urge you, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." 1 Tim. 2:1-3
We then had our own Inauguration Tea. We made patriotic goodies for our tea time today. First, we enjoyed red, white, and blue parfaits in my great-grandmother's parfait cups. One must always have red, white, and blue on the menu for a patriotic theme. Secondly, we we ate Oreo cookie/marshmallow bald eagles.
May we all pray for our new president as he has such important decisions to make for our country.
