Our Memorial Day weekend was very eventful. My mom, granddad and grandma, uncle, aunt, and cousin came to town to visit us. Thursday and Friday nights everyone came over to eat dinner and fellowship. Saturday involved eating out breakfast, shopping, fishing, and making our own pizza for dinner. Sunday after church we took a road trip to the charming town of Helen, GA, and to Anna Ruby Falls in Unicoi State Park. Monday brought more eating, shopping, and fellowshipping. It was a great way to spend the weekend. To top it off we were able to spend time with my granddad honoring him (he fought in WWII).

Tuesday was so beautiful and with the temperatures in the 70's I decided to take Tea Time outside. I set up a blanket in the tree house, popped popcorn, poured iced tea, and took our chapter book of present, Peter Pan, outside to read. Olivia and Isaac loved the treat of having tea time in the tree house and having the salty treat of popcorn along with tea. And I have to agree, it was quite refreshing to be outside and have a little change of pace with informality and outdoor scenery for tea time this week.
Poor Anna Belle was quite devastated that she didn't get to participate in this tea time because she does LOVE popcorn. If only she could have climbed the stairs.
My ballerina had her star performance this weekend. The theme was The Wizard of Oz and Olivia had two dances. First she assisted the tin man with an oil dance and later she performed the dance of the Emeralds. After the show Michael presented Olivia with a dozen red roses. She was so thrilled and had a great time performing.
Saturday afternoon we made a trip to northern Georgia with the intentions of picking strawberries. Red, juicy, and ripe strawberries were just what we found. While picking, we were naming recipes we could make with the fruits of our labor -- strawberry muffins, strawberry bread, strawberry milkshakes, strawberries with chocolate fondue, strawberry salsa, strawberry smoothies, strawberries and cream, and the list continued. However, the first to be prepared was strawberry shortcake. Yum!
Once upon a time there was a little girl and boy who had the time of their lives at Disney World in the Fall. They often reminded their parents of the fun and wonderful memories. As the days passed and Spring fast approached, the children's Grandparents invited them on another trek to Disney. Since the sweet children and the exhausted parents needed a vacation, they happily agreed to "tag along." The little girl and boy once again had the time of their lives making many fond memories...and lived happily ever after. The End.
Last Saturday through Wednesday we joined my mom and dad at Disney World where my dad had a business meeting. We visited Epcot on Sunday and Animal Kingdom on Monday and Tuesday. The highlights included:
riding the bus to and from for Isaac
at Epcot: riding in and seeing Spaceship Earth - the large golf ball-looking structure, The Seas with Nemo and Friends ride, meeting Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland, visiting France and China in the World Showcase
at Animal Kingdom: meeting Mickey Mouse and Pocahontas, seeing the Festival of the Lion King show, Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade, Finding Nemo - The Musical, riding the TriceriTop Spin ride (twice) as special guests, Kilimanjaro Safari ride, driving the Jeep for Isaac
Thanks so much Mom and Dad for the fun time and memories you created for us.
