After our picnic at Amicalola Falls we made our way down the mountain to Burt's Pumpkin Patch. We have made an annual trip to this pumpkin patch since we moved to Georgia. Going on a weekday proved to be better for less crowds. In fact, we were one of only four families.
Once we had taken our annual family photo and photos of the kids (this year having an addition to our pictures J), Olivia, Isaac, and Joshua each got to select a pumpkin of their choice to bring home. Olivia chose a Jarradelle Blue Pumpkin, Isaac chose an orange Sugar Pie Pumpkin, and Joshua chose (with Daddy's help J) a Carnival Squash. And I, of course, loaded up with "Faux Pumpkins" (butternut squash). If you remember from last year, I now try to buy pumpkins that I will actually use instead of just buying pumpkins for decorations like I used to.
What a joyful birthday I had -- spending time with my family, picnicking in the mountains, and going to the pumpkin patch. As we were leaving the pumpkin patch we were rewarded with a heavenly sight. The sun was starting to set and cast it's light directly on the white pumpkins. It was such a beautiful sight and a perfect ending to a perfect day outdoors. Thank you, God, for your beautiful creation and blessing me today and every day!
